A lot of people are unaware of the term "Native Modding" when it comes to Minecraft Bedrock modding. Some people think modding on Bedrock is only possible through resource packs and add-ons, but that is not the case.
Native mods are mods that directly interact with the core of Minecraft Bedrock. This removes many of the limitations of add-ons and resource packs and makes the experience much more similar to Minecraft Java modding. Native modding can be done on Bedrock platforms, although currently most native mod developers primarily target Android and Windows.
Native modding is not very well known because it requires reverse-engineering the game, finding functions and offsets, writing the mod in languages such as C++ or Rust, and compiling it into a binary that can be loaded by a third-party Minecraft launcher. For example, LeviLauncher is a launcher and mod loader that supports native mods on both Android and Windows. There are also other launchers capable of loading native mods.
Currently, native mods are mostly shared through Discord servers and YouTube channels. It would be great to have a proper platform where native mod developers can publish their projects in one place and then share them across the community.
Native Bedrock mods are already being used by a large number of people in the Bedrock community. For example, LeviLauncher's Android user base alone represents more than 200,000 device installations/uses over time, and the actual number of people using native mods would be higher when accounting for Windows users and other launchers. The ecosystem is still growing, and I believe it would benefit greatly from having a dedicated place on CurseForge.
I would like to suggest adding a dedicated Native Mods project type or category under Minecraft Bedrock on CurseForge, separate from traditional add-ons and resource packs. This would give native mod developers a central place to publish, discover, and manage their projects.
