Hey everyone,
I'd like to suggest a "Smart Duplicate" or Migration feature for custom modpacks. Right now, updating a personal modpack to a newer Minecraft version or a different mod loader is really tedious. If you duplicate a pack and change the version, you are left with a massive list of broken, incompatible mods that you have to sift through and delete manually.
The Idea: When duplicating a modpack, there should be an option to change the target Minecraft version AND the mod loader at the same time.
Once you select the new target, the CurseForge app should automatically scan your current modlist, check it against the new version/loader, and automatically delete any mods that are incompatible.
Example: Let's say I have a modpack running on Forge 1.20.1 and I want to update it to NeoForge 1.21.1.
I click "Duplicate & Migrate".
I select "NeoForge" and "1.21.1" as my targets.
The app scans my 1.20.1 mods. If a mod hasn't been updated to 1.21.1 NeoForge, the app automatically removes it from the new duplicated profile.
I am left with a clean, working base of my modpack on the new version, ready for me to add replacements.
Why this helps: This would save pack creators hours of cross-referencing mods and manually deleting files. It bridges the gap between different loaders (like Forge to NeoForge or Fabric) and makes updating personal packs to newer Minecraft updates a seamless process rather than a chore.
Thanks for considering it!
