Some mods can be fully Client or Server sided!
If you will choose Client-side mods, you will be able to find mods that's don't require them be installed on the servers you are joining.
Mod examples: Falling Leaves, Blur, Chat Heads.
If you will choose Server-side mods, you will be able to find mods that's can be installed on the server without need to be installed on the client side.
Mod examples: FallingTree, Realistic Sleep.
It will be much easier to find preferred type of mods with such tags!
BUT
In addition to this idea, i want to suggest considering one more important thing:
Additional Client-side only and Server-side only tags.
Why? Because..
..On the old version of the site, it was an option to search Client or Server mods, but when i searched for Client mods i often found mods that still require to be installed on the Server side, despite it tagged as Client mod.
What I'm trying to say
When i tried to search mods that doesn't add any blocks or gameplay mechanics but only change how the game looks from my perspective, i was still flooded with such mods that's are required to be installed on the servers too to work. That's means those two tags wasn't quiet helpful and convenient enough.. But with Client only or Server only tags it would be much better.
Thanks!
