Organization/Team

Good day! director of a studio here. CurseForge is great when it comes to its creators and authors, but that's mostly independent creators or very small teams with a small number of projects.

When having a larger team and many projects, project management becomes a hassle, especially when new members come aboard. So I'd like to propose a new idea, an Organization/Team feature.

What will this feature do? I have separated it into multiple points.

- Team management section. A new section in the authors dashboard. This is where team leads, directors, etc can go and manage their teams all in one place. Below are the specific values and settings that can be modified and set as the default.

- Team management. Team leads can manage all of their members settings here, almost identical to the pre-existing "Members" page, but with the other features i listed below. Team leads can manage their members revenue splits, their members permissions, titles, etc all in here. These settings can then be saved and any project that enabled this team feature will have these settings saved and synced. Any future changes once saved will automatically sync. Default settings such as permissions and titles however can be overridden in the "Members" section in the project management page in the dashboard.

- Revenue management. Revenue can be managed all in one place. As I know some creators with teams modify revenue splits a lot, including me. Default revenue splits can however be overridden in the "Members" section in the project management page in the dashboard.

- Team settings. The settings for the actual team rather than the members. Such as an icon, title, social links, etc.

- Tied with the team settings, Organizations/Teams will now have a public 'profile' page for them, similar to the author page. Members of the team will be displayed on this page as well as the team's projects and social links.

- Organizations/Teams will display on the profiles of members of the team in a new section, between “Projects” and “Favorites”.

- Project creation. Project creation stays the same, no new places to create projects. However, a new dropdown menu when creating projects, in the “General” section team leads/directors can choose what Organization/Team the project will go under.

- Abuse prevention. To prevent abuse, teams will require a minimum of 4 members that must accept before the team management can be changed and before they can go public. Optionally, members' accounts will at least be 1 month old before they can join teams.

- Misc. Any and all projects, old or new can enable this setting. Directors/team leads aka the account with ownership of a project reserve the right to disable the team setting at any time, reverting it back to a personal project. Projects with this feature enabled will be displayed on both the Organization/Team profile and the members profiles. Team lead will also have the option to allow their members to view their own revenue splits and permissions.

July 21st 2026 Edit:
- With the addition of CurseForge Legends, only the owner of the organization would hold all benefits such as premium and badges. Members will not hold any benefits due to it being easily exploitable.

I know that this will be incredibly useful for studios, teams, and big creators. Thank you for reading and take care!
