Curseforge has a rather large catalogue of non-curseforge mods which are allowed to be part of modpacks.
The issue for pack devs is that there isn't an easy way to distinguish between the mods you installed through CF and the ones you got from other sources. This is an important feature for packs featuring multiple mods not hosted on CF. It would save time for both modpack makers (who have to either sieve through their modlist or manually keep notes) and for the moderation team (people would be more likely to check their modlist themselves).
Also a potential little icon next to non-curseforge mods would be nice, but beggars can't be choosers.
This board is being moderated, if you wish for your idea(s) to go public, please consider the following:
If your idea already exists, vote for it, this will increase the chances for the idea to become reality. Duplicate ideas only split and lower votes
This board is for new ideas and feature suggestions, for technical issues or bug reports, visit/contact CurseForge Support
This ensures that the idea is accessible to a wider audience and makes it easier for others to understand and vote for the idea
Any ideas posted with foul language will not be published and get deleted
Avoid posting 'lists' of different ideas, we won't be able to address them with a proper status and they will get less votes from others, each idea should have its own post
This is now planned :)
Thank you for the suggestion!
or instead have a new files tab where you can see and manage all files in the mods folder, or even the whole instance folder with a built in editor
