To address the MCPEDL drama, how about limiting how many addons from one author can appear on the MCPEDL page each time they update? For example, only the latest 4 addons per author are shown on the website.

This would be good for big creators, small creators, and new creators, because their addons would still appear on the latest page. I want MCPEDL and CurseForge to be places for addon creators, not places for witch hunting.

For example, if ASOS (a top creator on MCPEDL) just updated 3 addons, and another creator updated 20 addons (same author btw), this could cause drama because ASOS’s addons could be pushed down by those 20 updates. But if only 4 of those 20 addons are shown on the MCPEDL page (not on CurseForge), then it wouldn’t be a problem. This drama doesn’t come from CurseForge, but from MCPEDL.

This is the most friendly solution for everyone (admins, big creators, old creators, new creators, and small creators).


And because of this drama, I hope MCPEDL and CF won’t become stricter and scarier for addon creators. Honestly, the current system is already good if there are no complaints. And as a note, complainers will always complain — once admins listen to a complainer, this will keep happening no matter what new updates or ideas the admins work on. The question is whether admins will keep listening to those complaints and ignore the one-fit solution I explained above.

and for the random post

If we use a random system over 3 days, for example there are 100 updates in those 3 days and ASOS’s addon ends up on page 3–4, that could cause outrage for a big creator like him (so random post can kill big creators at this rates). But if page 1 only shows popular addons (that would kill small and new creators). So a random post idea would cause massive complaints from small and new creators in the future for sure.

So the idea from “nolifeking” and me (howardaddon) and others with the same idea could be a solution to fix this issue. Honestly, if there are still complaints after this, that would be very strange. but as a note( complainers will always complain)
