I have some addons that require special treatment every time they are updated. I don't mind doing it but I don't always have the time and some of those authors update their addons regularly. I put it off by only updating those addons manually.

When you added groups, I created a group for those addons. Since there was an Update All button in the group, I figured they would update separately but that wasn't the case. Perhaps you could make it an option specifically for each group that would give players a choice. Each group's addons could be updated separately or at the same time as all of the other addons.
