A way to "watch" a mod and be notified when it's available to use with a particular game version or mod loader

I'm speaking mainly about Minecraft and how you can be running different versions of the game. Someone may be running 1.21.1 for example and want a mod that is only available for 1.21 and under. Currently you need to check back occasionally to see if it's been updated to work with your version. Having a way to add it to a watch list and be notified when it's updated would be very helpful. The same if it's only available for forge and you're running fabric as your loader.
