Crafting The Perfect Minecraft through efficient filtering.

Why is This Useful?

Creating modpacks often involves drawing inspiration from existing ones, but not everyone has the time or resources to dedicate to this process. While some creators make modpacks as a primary source of income, others do it as a hobby or in their spare time. For the latter, an efficient filtering system can save valuable time, allowing them to focus less on the technicalities of what they’ve added and more on supporting their favourite hosts and creators through ad links, improving server uptime, and simplifying the process of filtering content for server packs.

Who Would Benefit from This?

This system would benefit everyone, particularly casual players and creators who may have less time to dedicate to modpack creation. By streamlining the process, it increases engagement on the platform, leading to a higher view and download count. The more entertained users are, the more likely they are to continue exploring and downloading different mods, creating a positive feedback loop that benefits both creators and the platform as a whole.

How Should It Work?

The system should include a robust content filtering mechanism that applies not just when adding content, but throughout the entire process. This includes implementing a stricter mod-uploading protocol where the uploader must specify whether their mod is intended for client-only, server-only, or both. Currently, some mods lack environment filters, relying on the description box for specifications, which undermines the filter’s purpose.

Additionally, when users download a "server pack," the system should automatically filter and include only server-compatible mods (server-only and both). This prevents client-only mods from being downloaded unnecessarily, simplifying the process for modpack makers. As a result, creators can focus more on playing and sharing their modpacks with friends or promoting them, rather than spending time curating and organizing content.
