Overwolf recognized as malware

I am unable to run the curseforge launcher because both my antivirus and antimalware see Overwolf as malware. If it was just one seeing it as a problem I would probably whitelist it but since both see a problem with it I will not take a chance.

Can you make it so curseforge can be launched without overwolf?

Bell, shut the fuck up with the excuses, this isn't a matter of what you think, or what you think should be, this is a matter of what the user base clearly wants, and that is these add ons, put back, on the original Curse where they belong, and for Overwolf to exit anything to do with Video Gaming and kindly fuck off and out of our lives. They really need to stop trying to make that shit happen, Gamers rejected your useless bullshit, deal with it, now get it the fuck away from us.

It's been half a year, but I can assure you that Overwolf is not malware. When the CF team first opened the public beta, I jumped on the opportunity to download it. First, though, I ran a VirusTotal scan. The VT scan came back clean, so I was fine. For those of you who don't know, VirusTotal scans each file with over 70 of the latest compatible antivirus and antimalware programs out there, all for free. When I installed Overwolf and ran it, my antivirus flagged Overwolf as behaving maliciously and took automated action against it. I later reported a false flag, giving the VT report as evidence.

As for launching CF without Overwolf, see this explosive post, and then read the comments for an explanation of why this is not in the realm of practicality.

    Hello,

We had a change in our codebase that caused a temp issue with some softwares. if this is still the case for you, kindly share which software you are running and we'll check into this!
