Contextual Legacy / New Site switch button (keep the same page while switching website)

At the moment if you want to switch between legacy and new website on the same page you need to replace the legacy subdomain with www manually in the URL, although that could break if the url pattern is changed on the new website and is generally slower than just clicking a button.

Currently there are buttons to switch between different versions of the website, but the issue with those is: they don't take the current page context into account and always redirect to the homepage of one of the two versions of the website.

I think it would be very beneficial for users as a QoL features for the buttons to redirect to the same page you were on, but on the other website instead of the homepage.
