New Upload Verification Process

With all of the hacks lately it only makes sense that you have increased thoroughness and security in the file upload process.

From what I've heard, The process is very manual. I have an idea on how you can streamline this process and make it easier.

  1. Log the IP of the uploader.

  2. whenever a file is uploaded, send a confirmation email to the account holder with the IP address, and a link to confirm the legitimacy of the upload.

  3. Put a 24 - 48hr hold pending the response of the account owner. If the account owner doesn't approve the upload in that time, the upload is canceled and deleted.

    Hey, thank you for the idea. We have definitely improved our security and protocols and we will keep doing so. There were not a lot of hacks on CurseForge but we are definitely minimizing the impact such malicious users could potentially have on our platform. With that said, your idea will be considered!
