Title says it all. Never used Overwolf when that "crap" got into Teamspeak and was alredy extremely disapointed to see Path of exile addons go there. Now even you guys move...
unless there is concrete feedback, it is hard for us to address your claims.
I logged in to call BS on this. The reason why all these people are upset is becasue no one needs another data-collecting, bloated app full of data analytics marketed as 'features' If you know anything about UX, it is more than just UI and functions. Have some damn integrity and stop gaslighting your users (and maybe even yourselves)
fucking stupid i dont want Overwolf nor have i ever wanted it yet your forcing it on people who want to use the curseforge app
I can respect trying to expand, I can respect trying to help devs, I can respect separating from Twitch.
I do not respect signing up with overwolf (imo, far worse than twitch) and I do not respect changing from a fully free experience to an "Ads or pay" format.
I would give the app a shot, if it wasn't a combination of cringe, frustration and disappointment over having lost something I previously enjoyed a lot. I'll hop on over to MultiMC, or any other FOSS software. Cause I'd rather mod minecraft myself and manage it all myself, than have to deal with this bullshit.
The new app is built on the Overwolf framework and is required to to work. We've addressed this in our first Newsletter, and as of yet we do not have plans to change this. We invite you to give the new app a fair chance and see if it fits your uses.https://mailchi.mp/overwolf/whats-new-with-the-overwolf-curseforge-handoverCurseForge won't be a stand-alone app
We know many of you would have preferred to have CurseForge as a stand-alone app. Building it as a dedicated app on the Overwolf "engine", would practically mean that you’ll have the same UX, but with better performance, more capabilities, and faster development cycles, powered by everything we’ve built into Overwolf over the years which will run in the background without interfering with your game play.
The dedicated CurseForge team of engineers inside Overwolf will be in charge of continuously improving the Curseforge app to be the best mod manager out there.
You won't be notified about changes to this idea.
