Changing Launchers from Normal to Xbox

I am trying to play the medieval MC mod but when I try to hit play it takes me to the website of Minecraft but I only got Minecraft from the Xbox gamepass, and I don't want to drop 30 dollars just to play a free mod for a game I already "Own" please fix this as I am eager to play the mod for myself.
