For the peace of mind of all users, we would ask that you further commit to ensuring the best possible privacy in the app and the site. This is a necessary part of creating a safe community, do not take the privacy and security of users lightly. Keep in mind that many kids and teens use the app.
For starters, at least a statement of commitment to the matter, some ideas that could be in it:
Commitment to FOSS.
See also a suggestion for as much open source as possible (FOSS) - https://curseforge-ideas.overwolf.com/ideas/CF-I-99
Statement of what information you intend to collect.
Add/strengthen security requirements and privacy requirements of applications/mods that are uploaded on the platform.
Hey there, thanks for your feedback!
1. While we understand and appreciate the value of FOSS - Overwolf and it's CurseForge app are both free to use, albeit not open-source. We realise that this is a pain point and do not take it lightly, however we also believe that our software offers value in other forms, namely in our commitment to increase author compensation for their content.
2. Kindly see our recent article in this matter, will be happy to hear from you if this fits what you had in mind or if there are clarification points you would like us to address.
